On the 19th june 2016 The Cityguide Groningen there will be for the first time a walk through the center of the city of Groningen about the great beerhistory of Groningen. Two local newspapers made a special news item for this occasion

Preparing the first walk I could provide Arend Jan Wonink some stuff from my own beerarchive of Gronigen. Off course there is a lot of information on my website about Gronings Bier. But there is so much more to tell. Why beer became so popular oraund 1600-1700, the typical Gronings Cluyn Beer or Hait Beer, the granary of the north of the Netherlands, where were the popular breweries in the old days. You can find this out and much more during this walk through the center of Groningen. The beerwalk starts at the Noorderhaven and hij ends with a beertasting at Brouwerij Martinus in th Kostersgang.
